Opportunities for Secondary Schools

From the beginnings of KS3 to the challenges of GCSE, Kidenza offer a rewarding programme of activities suitable for Secondary pupils.

We understand that engaging children in the Music Curriculum in years 7, 8 and 9 can be challenging.  Schools may have pupils who are taking instrumental lessons but may also need to engage those who have had very little exposure or opportunity to explore music at Primary School.  Kidenza have concerts designed to inspire your pupils with careful thought given to their progression and skills at this stage in their education.  We are adaptable and approachable and can support schools to prepare pupils for the concert, with free teaching resources available for most programmes.

We aim to dispel the preconception of classical music as being stuffy and elitist

At this age we know that pupils want a more ‘grown up’ experience but still enjoy the fun of engaging with the musicians and conductor.  Our secondary concerts are designed to expect more from our listeners and challenge them that little bit further, helping you to embed the knowledge they get in the classroom.

Workshops are another key way we can support secondary learning.  Focussing on composition, these can be adapted to your curriculum needs and the age group you would prefer, from inspiring a class of Year 7s to stretching a group of GSCE students in their composition skills, groups can create something wonderful.

For your school:

  • Book tickets for a group of students to attend a concert happening near you
  • Be a host school and join forces with other schools (the more pupils who book the cheaper the cost per pupil)
  • Enjoy a day with Kidenza.  We can perform up to three concerts during the school day to inspire your whole school.
  • Workshops (suitable for Yr 7-9 or GCSE)
