‘Kidenza is a Community Interest Company: we rely on grants and donations to supplement income from ticket sales, and we reinvest any surplus into future projects. By becoming a friend or a patron you can help us extend our work and get more children involved in classical music.
Kidenza is committed to making classical music accessible to all, and to supporting children in benefiting from the range of educational and social outcomes that arise from active engagement in music.
Active engagement with music increases children’s self-confidence and creativity, enabling them to cope more effectively with stress, and boosting their ability to learn. Our innovative and informal approach to the performance of classical music – using many of Britain’s most accomplished young musicians – enables us to present great music in an irreverent and accessible way to children without any prior musical knowledge.
In addition to our public concerts we have an active and ambitious programme of work in schools across the South East. During 2015/16, our school concerts reached 21,000 children locally, and we provided schools and teachers with a range of educational materials to use in supporting children’s engagement with classical music.
We have ambitious plans for expanding our work in schools, concentrating on reaching children from disadvantaged areas who would not otherwise have opportunities for experiencing classical music.
Our goal is to reach over 80,000 children by 2020, working closely with schools to ensure that this work has lasting benefits, making a real difference to the lives of the most deprived children in our local area.
We need your help to achieve this goal. Many thanks in advance for your generosity.
